With a great selection of beers from around the world and guest ales from local micro brewers together with old favourites, the Red Lion offers one of the best selections of beverages in Derbyshire.

The wine list is extensive with fine red and white wine for every pallet and budget. Our selection of over 30 wines has been carefully chosen to match our food.

We also stock a good range of Malt Whiskies and other fine spirits.

Our Food is mostly sourced locally from the “Garden that is Derbyshire”, we also source “Best in class”.

Our Pork, Lamb, Poultry and 21 day matured steaks are all locally sourced.

The specialist seafood for our Fish Counter comes from all over the UK; Shrimps from Lytham; Lobster and Crab from Anglesy. Fresh Fish is a signature here, it is delivered fresh daily from the market. Fish, Chips and Mushy Peas to Lobster Thermidor - the menu changes daily when the daily catch arrives.

Head Chef Paul Miller, brings with him a wealth of experiance.

Weddings & Functions

Rumoured to be the centre of Great Britain, and set in acres of beautiful Derbyshire countryside the Red lion is the perfect location to say "I do" in style. We have two rooms to choose from: the Ashover and the Harewood. Holding a civil licence we can organise your entire day. Our next Wedding Fayre takes place on Sunday 13th September 2009. We are also planning an evening to show our rooms set up for a civil ceremony and a wedding breakfast. Please contact Laura if you wish to be invited.

Conferences & business meetings

Far from the madding crowd, set in the picturesque Derbyshire countryside this is the perfect place to bring your team away for the day to relax and bond together whilst focusing on ways forward for your business. We are able to offer two superb suites for your meetings, conferences & events. The Ashover is fully self contained, enabling up to 120 delegates to be seated theatre style. The Harewood will seat up to 50 guests with doors leading out onto the patio area, garden and grounds. We aim to offer flexibility and help you tailor each individual event.

At just £25 day* delegate rate we are very competitive and we are renowned for our catering.
